 Madison Schott

Madison Schott is a ceramic artist who prides herself in expanding the boundaries of functional ceramics. She has studied and made ceramics for over 5 years and her work challenges the narrative of "craft" or "hobby" ceramics. She pushes her work to be fine art worthy of a museum but accessible enough to be in your kitchen. Finding inspiration from the flowers and vegetation around her, she draws delicate slip illustrations on her pieces. Her work has been exhibited at “Function Fest” from The Clay Center of New Orleans and the “Paper and Clay” exhibition at Utah State University. She has also curated three group shows in Jacksonville FL called "Atmospheres Combined", “Ink and Clay" and “Art of Function”. She is passionate about spreading knowledge of ceramics to her community and is currently teaching wheel throwing classes at The Art League of Jacksonville.
